14:00 - 17:00
Do you get, or hope to get, public sector contracts or grants from GM, GM Local Authorities or the NHS? If so, in future, you will need to be meet (or possibly show that you are working towards) the GM Good Employment Charter standards.
Come along to this workshop, organised by the University of Manchester and GMCVO, to:
1) Learn about the Charter directly from the people who are developing it, and, contribute to its future development
2) Find out how meeting, or supporting, the Charter standards will be a requirement for the future GM Social Value framework
3) Explore how your employment practices fit with the Charter, and, if there are difficulties, discuss what support would be most useful to help you meet them
4) Create practical & collaborative solutions to cost effectively meet the standards (eg sharing resources)
VCSE organisations are already leading the way in some employment areas (such as job flexibility and diversity). GMCVO is supportive of a Charter that raises standards for good and accessible jobs for people across Greater Manchester. However, there are areas that are currently difficult for some VCSE, particularly smaller organisations, to meet (for example, the Real Living Wage).
This event, organised by the Inclusive Growth Analysis Unit, University of Manchester, and GMCVO, will enable participants to work together to contribute to the future development of the Charter, as well as brainstorm collective activities to help achieve good work within VCSE.
