Dr Misha Ewen, a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, is hosting Discovering Caribbean Family Memories, an event in Being Human 2019, the UK’s only national festival of the humanities. The workshop will explore how to begin researching family histories, including using objects and memories passed down from one generation to the next. The event was selected to be part of Being Human by the festival organisers, the School of Advanced Study, University of London, the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC), and the British Academy (BA).
The Discovering Caribbean Family Memories workshop aims to engage the public with the wider significance of family histories – including their power to change our way of seeing the past. It will be held during the festival, which runs from 14–23 November, on Saturday, 16 November, from 10am until 5pm at Manchester Central Library.
