Community views on violence affecting young people in Greater Manchester

new report which includes 350 people in Greater Manchester sharing their experiences and solutions on violence affecting young people has been published by the innovation unit.

The research was jointly commissioned by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and the 10 Greater Manchester local authorities. It is intended to inform these organisations' shared action plan to tackle violent crime; in particular violent crime involving weapons in which young adults and young people are perpetrators or victims.

Deputy Mayor for Policing, Crime and Criminal Justice, Bev Hughes, said: “I’d like to thank all those who have helped to develop this research, which gives us vital community insight into the very challenging and complex issue of serious violence and provides some ideas about how we might begin to tackle the issue in Greater Manchester."
