The New Creative People and Places 2020-24 is allocating at least £39 million between 2020-24 to places identified as the 'least engaged' in arts and culture across England.
Funded by the Arts Council and National Lottery, grants between £1,000,000 and £2,000,000 are available for new programmes to be delivered over four years from November 2020.
The list of eligible places is based on the bottom 33% of places according to the Active Lives Survey November 2015 to May 2017. These places are parts of the country where involvement in the arts is significantly below the national average and include Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Tameside and Wigan in Greater Manchester.
Projects are led by consortia and must include community groups and/or grass-roots organisations as well as cultural organisations such as museums, libraries or arts organisations. Other partners might include clubs, housing associations, private-sector organisations or universities.
More information about the fund can be found here.
Applications are open now, and close at 12 midday on Thursday 26th March 2020
