Free surplus food offered to local charities

From 22nd February 2016, not-for-profit organisations based in Greater Manchester will be able to access free, unsold and perfectly edible food from 13 local Tesco stores.

Partnering with FareShare UK and Tesco, FoodCloud is the innovative technology that makes this happen, by notifying charities via text when surplus food becomes available, the types of food available and the times for store collection (8.30pm to 9.30pm).

FareShare is currently looking for charities and community groups that could benefit from these food donations (typically bakery, fruit and veg), through reducing the costs of providing food for their vulnerable clients.
