Northern Customer and Community Improvement Fund - open for applications

Northern Railway have launched a new fund, Customer and Community Improvement Fund (CCIF). 

The fund is open for applications for projects that will deliver benefits to the customers and communities they serve across the north of England. 

Themes the fund is looking to address are 

  • Sustainability

  • Accessibility

  • Safety and Security

  • Inclusion and Positive Social Impact

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing

Ultimately though, Northern want to hear about any schemes or projects you think would make a difference.  Applications are open until 22nd January for schemes that can be delivered from 1st April 2020 – 31st March 2022.  There is no minimum value for applications, but the maximum value is £200,000.  Match funding isn’t a requirement but will be looked on favourably especially for higher value schemes.  Unfortunately they can’t accept Northern’ seed corn or station adoption funding as match.

The Fund can be used for schemes on or off the railway so please let your imaginations run wild, there are only a handful of things that would make a scheme ineligible, all listed on the web page.
