Big Alcohol Conversation

In late 2018 the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership started the Big Alcohol Conversation, a major public engagement exercise that reached out to residents across the city region, to explore the scale and nature of alcohol-related harm in Greater Manchester and the steps that can be taken to help address it.

Community engagement included a ‘big bus tour’ visiting public places, and targeted work led by GMCVO and 10GM. The report below covers the work undertaken by GMCVO and 10GM, supported by 68 VCSE organisations. It outlines the qualitative findings from 20 focus groups, and 2,699 of the free text responses to the survey which were from the people who responded to the survey as a result of VCSE sector activity.
