Stakeholder Session (Training) GM Cancer Screening and Engagement Programme

Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership have commissioned a 3-year Greater Manchester Cancer Screening and Engagement Programme. The aim of this new Programme is to develop a Voluntary and Community Sector-led approach to reduce the incidence of cancers. The Programme will find innovative ways to engage, mobilise and work with people across Greater Manchester, to raise awareness about cancer and increase participation in screening programmes. In particular, it will target communities with low screening uptake.

This half-day session is for people with experience or interest in training and development across cancer screening, social movements or community-led approaches.

We're interested in collectively developing knowledge around 'what works’ and will be working with you to inform our own plans and priorities, including sharing best practice. The session will comprise a mixture of showcase presentations, networking and round-table discussions.

By the end of the session, you will have:

  • Learned up to date information about the progress and priorities of the new GM Cancer Screening and Engagement Programme
  • An understanding of and ownership in the Training and Development area of the programme.
  • An opportunity to network with other key stakeholders from across the city region.
  • Identified, mapped and shared best practice in Training and Development.
  • Discussed and contributed to the delivery plans of the new GM Screening and Engagement Programme.
